AIS: Region 16 show

Chuck Chapman walked away with all the honours at the Region 16 show.  As
expected, Chuck also had the most entries as his season is later than
everyone elses -- he even brought an SDB seedling!

The show was quite thin as just about everyone's TBs were finished.  When we
left home Friday night, we had maybe three stalks that could be shown on
Saturday but the show was Sunday, so we left them behind.  We only brought
Fourfold White and Blackberry Jubilee (to ensure that there would be the
minimum of 5 exhibitors).  Cathy Boyko thoughtfully brought lots of hosta
leaves that provided an excellent backdrop for the irises and made the show
look not nearly so empty.

I forgot to bring my notes to work with me so I am doing this from memory:

Best of Show:  Aqua Whispers
Best Iris of Canadian origin:  Gatineau (sib)
Best Species:  Oriental Beauty (dutch)
Best TB seedling & best seedling:  violet S with violet wash over bronze &
bronze-edged falls
Best non-TB seedling: dark purple setosa with darker blaze 
Court of Honour:  Goodbye Heart, Designing Woman, Roaring Jelly, purple TB
seedling
