Like I said, I'm going to write something up for ROOTS, after I write up the
other two articles I've got to do.

Period descriptions of older irises are found in many of the materials
available for sale by HIPS. These include the Cornell Bulletin 112, several
of the early AIS Bulletins, facsimile reprints of catalogs, many issues of
ROOTS itself, and the Chronicles. The Chronicles are historic documents. They
were compiled by members of the AIS Historic Robin and they are not all equal
in quality, or in legibility, for they were done by various people, some more
industrious than others, and they now come to you as photopoies of
typescripts which were originally mimeographed. Typically, each Chronicle
treats of one hybridizer's work and has biographical material, excerpts of
Bulletin articles or other primary documents, and a list of their individual
introductions with descriptions assembled from catalogs and other sources.

A list of HIPS Publications is found on the HIPS page at
http://www.worldiris.com. Dorothy Stiefel, HIPS Publications Chairman will be
happy to answer your questions about any HIPS publications. Her address is on
the page as well.
