Francis,

Ideally, immediately.  However, I often wait a day or two to treat the
rhizomes with bleach and let them air a bit to prevent potential for rot.  I
replant up to three weeks later.  Others will report that you can replant
even months afterwards, but you usually have to rehydrate rhizomes in this
case.
