Bill, I was waiting for you to write it up! Perhaps as an installment in the 
What's in a Name series in ROOTS? I did one of those already on Alice 
Harding, one of my own heroines, and Donald Eaves is doing one that will rock 
the casbah.  

A friend and I were just talking about this question the other day when I 
went by to pick up a few rhizomes. She'd heard William A. Setchell was 
someone involved with tobacco, and judging by the amount of that iris in this 
town that is rather plausible. Maybe that middle initial distinguishes him.

I'm really going to have to let someone else do the research on this one. I'm 
writing up an article now for the Anniversary Edition of our Regional 
Newscast on the early days of irises in Richmond and surrounding areas and 
have nearly blinded my poor eyes looking at microfilms.  And I've got two 
other articles researched and ready to be pulled together when I finish.

And then, of course, there is the usual HIPSource business at this time of 
year...and some few things need to be dug...
