Regarding THORNBIRD... It's not one of my favorite color combo's. But, I do
love the way that it blooms every single year, has increases that are obscene
in numbers and it just keeps on going --- both blooming and coming back!
I get tired of buying and planting TB irises that bloom once and forever hold
their piece (so to speak) and never a trace of them is to be found in the bed
again. This happens a lot here at the Poore-House.
You are right that people either love it or hate it. I know people that will
never ever grow it or give it the credit it deserves, yucky color or not. I
also like the way that it is consistently space aged. Never seems to drop
it's parts or revert to beards at my house. It is one of the more vigorous
space agers for me.
