GIANT ROSE was among the cultivars I ordered and planted when I first
started growing irises here over twenty years ago. I will agree with Walter
that it flopped, not from the wind, but in the theatrical sense by not
putting on a very memorable performance, and after several years I
discarded it. At this remove, all I can recollect about it is that the form
was muddled and the color non-descript. The flower was large, but not
astoundingly so.
