Hi Talkers,
I think BABBOON BOTTOM should be added to the list of
controversial irises. I have heard more disgist
expressed over its name.
During the '94 Convention in Portland, I happen to be
on the same bus as Brad and Kathie Kasperek. At one of
the convention gardens we found a robust clump of
BABBOON BOTTOM growing. Brad and I started to discuss
the clump when another conventioneer walked up to the
clump, bends down to read the name tag, then loudly
proclaimed her distaste. Brad and I immediately turned
to look at each other and broke out into laughter.
This poor conventioneer looked at us as though we were
crazy and I said "Madam, you will remember this iris
and this moment for the rest of your life.....May I
introduce you to Brad Kasperek?"
