Christy: My experience with California Poppies is still in a fight stage at
this time. They looked pretty among the iris, but if they go to seed, they
will start to crowd and suffocate the Iris. I feel they take food away and
shut off air circulation around a clump of iris which leads to problems. If
not allowed to seed it might be different, but we are plague with the poppy
in our beds. Bill
