	I will release my own.

I have been vaguely aware of the use of alfalfa pellets for
sometime but didn't get interested in using them until reading all of
the messages about them several years ago on iris-l. According to
the reports on iris-l, the results of using the pellets were
outstanding - a real tonic, like Hadacol or Geritol - the irises really
liked them.

For me in my garden, the use of alfalfa pellets is a total waste
of time and money. I have incorporated the pellets while making
new iris beds, I have top-dressed, and I have made tea for use in
the spring and summer.

I see no growth or bloom improvements by using alfalfa pellets
(horse or rabbit). I haven't even seen a sickly iris perk up. (I even
stuck about a pound of it under BOOGIE WOOGIE to see if it
would make it boggie on up and bloom...didn't work).

I do detect a terrible order in my garden after a rain.

I see scratched earth and holes where wild things have come in
and made a mess while searching for a free dinner. The alfalfa has
attracted them.

Maybe, alfalfa pellets work somewhere, but they are of no use
here. I have tried them repeatedly, too, and it is doubtful if I well
ever use them again. Sometimes, I think of the new plants I could
have bought with the money I wasted on alfalfa.
