What about blues more the color of my old favorite I. pallida? Darker
than the blue tinted whites and pale SONG OF NORWAY, but lighter than
VICTORIA FALLS? The only one I've grown that comes close is CARRIBEAN
DREAM, but it doesn't have much lavender tint to it. Also BABBLING
BROOK is in that shade, but it doesn't bloom every year (too early &
gets frozen). Neither is really the shade of pallida. TIDES IN is
close (freezes out every year), PACIFIC MIST is kind of close. Seems
like there are lots of darker and lighter blues, but not as many
recently introduced tough growers to choose from in that commonest of
shades.
I guess I need to try to find pix of all the ones mentioned on this
thread so far from somewhat similar growing conditions.
