Not dumb, Bill, just in a great place to do that.  Here, there is only
one garden I know of that grows a lot of newer introductions that is
within a days drive (Phil Williams place in Eagleville).  That's a full
days exhausting drive.  Julie Allen in Sparta is a judge so she grows a
few new things and a couple of our club members in Knoxville have a few
newer cultivars as well - they are about 2 hours round trip from me.  

Some day, I hope we can dial up internet website and hire a guide to
take us on guided tours of gardens.  For example, maybe send Walter or
Joe and Donna Spears some cash and make an appointment to tour thier 
gardens in virtual reality.  That way, I could ask to see the base of
the plant rather than just the flower, so I can see how it's growing.
