AR: arilbred bloom report

From: "Donald Eaves" <donald@eastland.net>

Hello Folks,

In spite of not being a good weather year, I'm enjoying some
nice arilbred blooms. I'll say this for them, except for KIOSK,
they withstand the wind very well. The stalks leaned over today
but the blooms held up. The stalk on ONLOOKER that survived
the earlier hail bloomed today. I guess I'm not much for cut
flowers. It sure looked better out on the plant than in a glass.
DESERT PLUM was dark and dramatic. Nice dark signal showed
pretty well in spite of the dark color. Historic JAZZ BABY was a
delight. I would call the falls more lime green than olive green and
the splashing gives the impression of red instead of violet, but
whatever shade of green used, it's probably got the greenest color
I've seen in an iris bloom. The falls were very light lavender? with
a lighter flush of the same shade of green blending nicely with
falls. Five!! stalks on this one too. Old ZWANENBURG put on
the first bloom today. This one has been a strong grower and good
performer here so far. Fills the median gap I'm not having much
success with since it's also not very tall. Tomorrow I should get to
see LOUELLA DEE and Ms. Louella's own intro DARLING WHO
KNOWS. I've tried to take some photos to send as requested, but
can't tell what kind of success I'm having. The wind doesn't die until
it's too dark to photograph, so it's like shooting a moving target. Plus
the camera makes me nervous. Borrowed and expensive, yikes.
