AIS: Dallas Bloom status request

From: Pooreplace@aol.com

Evenin' all...

I've had TB's in full bloom since last week here in OKC with itty bitties
blooming everywhere... What is the current status on Dallas??? Usually (in
years past) by the time I have this many little ones in bloom they are
hitting TB peak bloom. I had already heard that their azaleas were at peak a
few weeks back. We even have azaleas blooming already and they usually don't
start and hit peak here until mid-April to Easter (around the 23rd)...

Had a report from some who attended the Saturday & Sunday OKC Daffodil &
Amaryllis show that they even had at least 10 stalks of iris entered in their
show... Now THAT IS a first! They even opened up several other classes
apparently to biennials, perennials, and other things blooming a month or
more earlier than this show held every year the last weekend of March.

No signs of a frost anywhere in sight here either. I am preparing to water
and knuckle down for a summer of bugs galore. This was our warmest winter in
the past 4 to 5 or more years. We really needed some moisture and some cold,
alas... maybe next year.

I got tied up working 4 to Midnight both Friday & Saturday nights and had to
miss Hooker Nichols judging school Saturday up in Tulsa and saw nothing about
it... Any reports out there? I'll get to make Luella Danielson's judging
school here on the 8th, but the two back to back classes Perry Dyer is
teaching down in Dallas are looking bleak... A Tuesday night just isn't
do-able...

Happy irising...
Kath in OKC..... AIS Region 22, USDA Zone 7
