Margaret, that was a good, succinct description of how to overcome heaving.
It gave me an idea to use what I call staples (used to hold down weedccloth)
for holding them in the ground -- of course a large rhizome would be too big,
but it might work for the little ones. It's a wonder the hoop over the plant
doesn't trip the deer!
