If rot is the question...Comet Cleanser was frequently used during this time
frame for treatment of rot.   Gently scraping away topsoil to expose the
rhyzome...cut off rot...rhyzome still in place, sprinkle with Comet
Cleanser, let dry a bit and recover.  So logically, if you nicked the
rhyzome, then sprinkled on comet, let dry a bit and recover with dirt...no
rot....at least not so far.   Mferguson
