Re: Cult:seedlings

Good to here that your catalog is on the way. Woodland
Iris Gardens has some of the best selection of irises
out there. Have received Schreiners, Cape Iris, and a
couple of other catalogs. This is the year I hold back
the years' iris budget for new iris purchases until
your catalog arrives. There is a relatively new pellet
type of root fertilizer on the market called
"Rootblast". Applied on seedlings last year and it
made a visible-to-the-eye noticeable difference in
early and sustained vigorous growth on MDB, SDB, and
TB seedlings as well as there divided rhizome
transplants. What are your thoughts on using root
fertilizer on both new seedlings and the replanting of
divided rhizomes. Fertilize twice a year with a mix of
potash, bone meal, blood meal, and superphosphate.
Added to that mix will be "Rootblast". What
fertilizers, if any, do you use in Woodland Gardens?
Best regards, Martin.
