HYB:Germination

Hi

After the hottest summer for 90 years or so, we've just had our coldest
March day for 50 years. Looks like autumn has disappeared and we've gone
straight to winter. My poor seeds have been sitting in the bottom of the
fridge ( in damp spagnum) for two months waiting for a break in the weather.
I finally got to plant them out yesterday. More than half had started to
germinate and many of the dwarf crosses had quite long roots. The trouble is
that my bearded seeds have been hogging my fridge space and my signa seeds
haven't even started stratifing yet. Not sure whether to plant them straight
out or refrigerate them. It's a gamble. We could stay cold and wet or get
another warm spell. Prob play safe and put them in the fridge. After a
couple of inches of rain over the last week, the garden is going mad, and so
are any weeds that didn't get Surflaned. It always amazes me how how plants
know the difference between irrigation water and rain.
