Re: TB: Starling Mistress

Francelle

What is your opinion of Sterling Mistress. We inherited it with the
business. For me it always seems to have a thin crepe-like texture and small
flowers and a not very exciting colour . I haven't seen it growing in other
soils/climates and am not sure if it can look lovely in other conditions or
to trash it.

people I was with didn't have time to look up any iris gardens, but nowhere
did I see any tall bearded irises. There were some spurias and Louisiana's,
but no beardeds at all. I can see many more than that driving around
Phoenix.
>At my place half the irises are in bud now. Noreen's Delight, Soul Sister,
Sterling Mistress and Pacific Belle, TBs, and Dawn Caress, Aril-bred are
blooming. The seedlings, about 60 of them, will soon be ready to
transplant, and the biggest temperature worry is heat. Temperatures of 90
degrees and above kill the pollen.
