Lorraine,

Keith Keppel registered a TB seedling under the name ROUNDUP in 1966. In
1971 he released this name to himself and registered a different seedling
under it. The second ROUNDUP was introduced in 1974. I may be mistaken, but
I believe that all these events occurred before the herbicide glyphosate
was first marketed under the trade name 'Roundup'.
My guess is that the naming of the iris is totally unconnected to that of
the herbicide.
