Here in Zone 6, Edith grows okay, but not great, and blooms every year, but tends to have a low bud count. I would call it a short TB - it doesn't have IB height or bloom size, like someone mentioned.
I continue to grow it because I love the colors. Similar looking cultivars don't have the same bright shade of yellow for me. Could be a micronutrient thing.
There are several similar looking cultivars that do grow better in this area. EARTHSONG was hybridized here in PA, and is a better grower - very popular here. HELEN WANNER is another PA intro, and was unfortunately overlooked at the time - it is a much better grower than either of the above. Ernst's TWO SIDED COIN and Lauer's JURASSIC PARK also do well here, though JP doesn't really look like EW too much - it's much paler, with larger blooms.
At the AIS convention last year, I was hugely impressed with IN YOUR DREAMS, which is a Lynda Miller intro. It's similar to EW, but has a strong purple flush in the center of the standards. Good growth and bud count at the convention, and good growth here - I only planted this last year.
