Edith Wolford is a gracious lady and would get a big chuckle
about all of this flack over her namesake.

Who saw those gigantic rows of EDITH WOLFORD when
Melrose was on tour at the San Jose Convention in 1986? Who
could have predicted that what we were seeing was a 'one-garden
wonder?' Nobody - not even Ben could have predicted that this
plant would sulk outside of its home garden. It just happened.

As Fred said, she grows somewhere - well enough for AIS Judges
to vote her the highest award. Let's hear from those where she is
deserving of her Dykes?

Also, EW is not the only poor performer among the Dykes Medal
Winners, as we all know.. I had better luck with EW than
HONKYTONK BLUES, which I replaced probably three times
without ever seeing it bloom. KILT LILT, EVERYTHING PLUS, and
BEFORE THE STORM are in the questionable category, too.
These are all gone from my garden, dying a natural death. EW
was tossed.
