Judy,

Having read the identification and photography articles on the HIPS site
numerous times, I know I need to take many more pics and copious notes on
all features of the plant before submitting any of my unknowns to HIPS
for identification assistance. Since I transplanted all my irises in
'00, I decided to wait until this year to take the rest of the necessary
photos. Assuming they all make it through this winter, their clumps
should be mature enough this season to be representative of their garden
behavior and appearance.

If anyone would be interested in taking a look at photos of these two
irises and some of my other unknowns, you can find them at the following
URL:
http://www.geocities.com/lfandjg/unknownirises.html
Each thumbnail links to a separate page with one or more larger pics of
the same flower.

When I took my mental garden tour earlier this afternoon and wrote of
these flowers, I did not refer to any of my photos. Having just glanced
at the page above, I am amused to find my mental images not *quite* in
sync with photographic reality. My angelic garden Queen who sways pink
in my mind is, in fact, very pale lavender, and her beards, while
wonderfully long, are not exactly bushy. You can find her on the far
left of the row second from the bottom. I have her identified on her
page as a pale neglecta.

The other neglecta - the Original - of which I wrote is pictured several
rows farther up the page in the center. It is the only multiple-flower
clump shot on that page.

Enjoy and feel free to throw out any identification guesses for me to add
to my lists of possible suspects.

Laurie
