I am always wary of taking things out of context, and have not read the
original article. ... but here goes:
'50% of seedlings better than most named varieties on the market today'
Are you SURE Barry said that Patricia?
That seems to me to be an extraordinary statement. It certainly gives me
hope, because I have made several of the same and similar crosses as Barry
and with the few seedlings I grow per year (about 600) I should expect to
have at least 1/10 of these 'better than most named varieties on the market
today' That gives me around 60 seedlings worthy of introduction per year :-)
    I think NOT!
I must say that some of mine have resembled fairly closely, some of Barry's
recent intro's, but few were worthy of keeping because of poor bloom or
growth. I certainly expect better from those named varieties that I have
bought.
I would expect that Barry's reject pile is far greater than 50%.
I hope I haven't offended Barry, but I can't believe he would make such a
claim.
Cheers, Jan
