Hi Betty,
Jeans and T-shirt are OK for most things. The Geek Dinner is not a formal
banquet. Most anything is OK. The Welcome banquet is usually a little
dressier than jeans, but not exceedingly so. Nice slacks or a skirt and a
top is fine or a simple dress, unless you are at the speakers' table. Then
you would need something dressier.
Actually there is a lot of variation in what people wear, depending on their
taste and what they are comfortable with.
