Or you can do what I do - tweezers - in bathroom, book - under computer
desk, tags - in a tin I put somewhere, little plastic cups for pollen, in
the kitchen cupboards, loose somewhere hidden way at the back.
Best not to carry it round the garden with you - check the irises first then
come in for the tweezers. Do the first pollenation, then hold the left over
pollen in the palm of your hand, while you rumage in the cupboard for the
little plastic cups with the other. Collect the pen and a few tags, then
proceed to the garden for some more pollenating. Didn't get enough tags -
not a problem - go back to the house for more.
When you have finished pollenating, go and collect the book and head back to
the garden for the names and numbers of the crosses.
Disorganised? - yes, but that is about the best exercise I have had in
weeks! I can happily have a mid morning snack, and feel i have worked for it
:-)
Cheers, Jan in Aus, where nothing is remotely looking like flowering, but
the increase are starting to show.
