Another thought - solarization might be killing off the bigger critters
(i.e., nematodes) that eat bacteria & fungi....

Really interesting observation Donald - I will surf around and see if I
can find any data on solarization effects on soil carbon storage.  Maybe
you can get a grant to study it <g>
