Much to our collective embarrassment (Cooley's and ours), the cover inset
picture was mis-read from the slide and thus mis-named. Paul fortunately is
very understanding!
That Beautiful iris is PIONEER WOMAN (Paul Black 2002)
PIONEER WOMAN - TB, 36" (91cm), Midseason. Pioneer Women had to be tough and
robust and so is this Pioneer Woman. Standards appear as sun bonnet yellow.
They are in fact white with a heavy, overall veining of yellow with yellow
margins. Styles are bright yellow. Broad, flouncy, stark white falls have a
wide yellow band and veined haft. Beards are sunshine yellow. Huge blooms
are supported by strong, well branched stalks. Makes big, husky plants.
Sdlg. B2A Amour X Ginger Swirl.
