Re: TB: pregnant fans

Interesting Janet - according to the R&I, 3 of those 4 TBs are
rebloomers. I didn't look up the ABs. I've ready here a number of
reports of very early TB bloom on rebloomers where listers have wondered
whether or not the early stalks were 'left over' from unsuccessful
attempts to bloom the preceeding fall.

Can you tell I really want these to be rebloom stalks? <g>

<there's not a sdb swelling in sight but the following are VERY pregnant
with stalk swellings: RADIANT ANGEL, PRO NEWS (AB) , ZERZURA (AB),
GOLDEN
RASPBERRY, HELL'S FIRE, NEW DISCOVERY( AB), and DASHING. Janet

Good point Sandra. I got wondering about the SDBs yesterday and went to
hunt for stalks forming on them. Sure enough, I found a few.

<Last year I noticed the same thing, TB's starting blooms deep in their
fans before the medians and dwarf showed any sign of blooming,
however, they take a long, long time to actually bloom, whilst the
SDB's will bulge up and bloom within a couple of days. Sandra SE

Walter, the stalks I found were on the SDB 'mystery' seedlings I shared
with you last year. These <might> be RASPBERRY JAM x germanica, but
labels were lost long before they reached blooming size, & I have no
idea what they are.
