Doris,
That seedling is stunning! I absolutely love the look of arils with all the striping.
I put in my first arilbreds last year - a dozen or so. They appear to have wintered beautifully. Many apparent increases and the foliage on them looks much better than that on my TBs at the moment. I so hope that some of them bloom this first year. I have never even seen an AB in person, but have fallen in love with the photos of them that I have seen online.

Luella Danielson phoned me Tuesday to tell me she had a seedling I just had to see. We decided to meet for lunch. On our table was a vase with an absolutely beautiful Aril OH. She gave it to me to take home where I photographed it numerous times, not getting the true colors as I saw them. With flash, it was washed out and without, it was dull. Finally, this morning, in natural light, I managed to come as close as possible to capturing the beauty of this stunning blossom. No photograph could do it justice. I've posted it to Iris-Photo at Yahoo. Since the death of her son, Floyd, she has discontinued putting together a catalog each year. She is still hybridizing for her own pleasure and spends time with her orchids. . .which is another whole photograph album!! Her health is excellent and she's just as sharp and full of it as she ever was. She called me this morning to tell me the temperature at her place dropped to 33 degrees during the night and one ready-to- open AB actually froze right below the blossom. She lives about 35 minutes north of me . . .my temperature was 42 this morning. I invite everyone to look at this seedling! I realize I'm biased but IMHO, it's just to die for!!!
