Re: OT: Something for the youth..?

Hi all!

I don't usually post, but my niece is a youth member so this had interest for me!

My niece will be six in May (she joined last year just before she turned five) and a coloring contest would be something she'd just
love!!!

She truly loves iris - after all her mother and I have drug her to every big iris garden we can find since she was two. She is
especially happy if there are a few weeds that she can help pull while she's there! :-)

I hope there are other younger youth members out there too!!!

Karen

I was thinking, in that distracted not really here way we do, that a broken
color iris with black over red, (true black, true red) would be ever so
eyecatching... and wouldn't a stark white beard just make it all that much
better? Which quite naturally lead my thought train to wonder about whether
a red with black plicata markings would be nicer than a black with red
plicata markings... which made this image of a coloring book type page pop
into my head.  It showed just the outlines of the various color patterns;
plicata with a wide band, plic with a narrow band, something with a zonal
spot, a broken color, a chimera, a space-ager, a flattie, etc.

anyway, would that, a coloring page/contest be something for the youth? are
there youth of the right age group? Surely a computer could make it up,
just trace over some pictures and take the color away, (I'm guessing)

just a thought.
