Re: TB: CULT: Cloud Berry etc

Thanks Ev! That sounds encouraging. CB is a listed as a late bloomer,
so there's even a chance it might escape any late freezes also.

So nice to meet you at the Region 7 pot luck at Henry Horton over the
weekend. Look, everybody, another hybridizer/judge in the re-making for
Region 7. Hooray!

You've really picked a good year to get back into iris growing here -
this has been a wonderful winter for them without the usual warm spells
that cause such problems with subsequent damage. Keeping my fingers
crossed that we don't have any more temperatures in the teens this
spring!

<Cloud Berry is one of the best looking cultivars in the garden so
far. Of course, it's still very early and there's not a lot of
growth, but the growth on this one is
very bright and husky. Some of the iris in the garden are very
"puny" looking, but their surprises are stored still and awaiting more
warm weather. (Knocks on wood) So far, doesn't look like I lost a
single plant over winter. I did plant much later than I normally like
due to the move, however, looks like everything survived! More
updates soon! :-) -Ev.>
