I should buy it !!! The idea was for you to buy it <gr>. I am still waiting for Midnight Majesty and Wild Irish Rose to come down enough in price for me to buy...and I like "Can't Touch This" probably just as much as Changing Seasons (although I have to admit this is one very lovely iris in spite of its color) and I will buy it in a year or two or so.
Thanks for the analysis.

Good grief! Well, sure, Manitoba and Tennessee have such similar climates <g> Or maybe we have similar soil and disease problems & similar spring freeze /thaw cycles.
BRAZILIAN HOLIDAY - got it in 2001, it seems fairly healthy (just ran out in the pouring snow/sleet/rain to rescue laundry and looked at it), has increased a bit, but I don't remember it blooming, and I didn't see evidence of dried stalks (advantage to not cleaning up beds in the fall <g>). So this ancestor gets a <B> for above average health but mediocre or erratic bloom.
CHINESE TREASURE - haven't tried. An older Blyth iris ('81), pink amoena, my guess is it would not be likely to do well for me. Don't know the parents either. My guess is this one would get an <F> or at least a <D> here.
BRISTO MAGIC - haven't tried: pedigree is BREAKING DAWN (haven't tried) X LATIN LOVER (the 'pink drooler', photo posted by Bill B not long ago, one of the first modern irises I fell madly in love with, still have, survived much abuse here, beginning in the 70s or early 80s before I knew modern irises didn't like being buried in weeds). BREAKING DAWN is a Schreiner pink amoena, AMETHYST FLAME X W940-A. Believe it or not, I haven't ever tried AF here. Anybody know what W940 is from? Bottom line, I want to try BRISTO MAGIC, especially since I think I've been seeing it in several pedigrees of interesting things lately. With LL as pollen parent, it has at least half a chance of doing well for me. So, i'd guess at least a <C> for BRISTO MAGIC, possibly as high as an <A>
Bottom line, I'd say CHANGING SEASONS has a much better than average chance (at least a <C> grade) of at least living here. Bloom is late season, so it might be able to escape late freezes. I think you should buy it and let us know how it does for you <g>
Then again, keeping in mind what Fred, Neil & others have said about seedling selection, there is no way of knowing whether or not LATIN LOVER and BRAZILIAN HOLIDAY were both unusually good seedlings out of a crop of siblings that were terrible. If they were, then their offspring aren't as likely to be very good.
I'm glad WHOLE CLOTH didn't show up in there, or I'd be tempted. It seems to be in the pedigrees of everything that thrives for me.
<...[CHANGING SEASONS:] (Brazilian Holiday X (Chinese Treasure x Bristo Magic)) Seedling #KK 772-1. Does this pedigree look like it will do well in your area ? Most of the ones that do good for you do well for me also. Thanks. Sandra SE Manitoba>
