Re:Re: TB: CULT: seeds and germination?

Donald,
The seeds that appear to be germinating have very tiny what appear to be sprouts.
Because it is early in the germination (first day i've noticed anything) and the sprouts are so small, I am not sure if I am seeing the start of the plant itself or the start of the root, or if TB seeds might have something on the coating that looks like that as the seeds are moistened. As you can tell, I haven't germinated TB seeds before.
I will try another tray. I have also set up artificial lighting for the seeds that appear to be germinating. Not sure what to expect.
The pollen parents are unknown. One pollen parent may be Romantic Evening.
The pod parent is an unidentified nice purple self for that one.
I have seeds from Syncopation, 4 of those. and about a dozen seeds from Sostenique pod also.
I'm not expecting anything exciting, just decided to try my hand at germinating and raising seedlings before jumping into a hybridization program of my own where specific crosses for traits and records of both parents will be kept. So I located a shop that had some seeds on hand from last year to try my hand.
Not sure how the seedlings will like it here in zone 4b on the shoreline of Lake Superior and I want to become somewhat educated as to what will and won't work (more times than not) as far as transplant times, etc, in my specific region before spending more time and money on specific cultivars.
Thanks for the information. truly appreciated.
Steve M in zone 4b awaiting his (plant) youngster arrivals.
