irises and mulch

For a plant that is purported to not like mulch, irises are incredibly
efficient at collecting mulch due to their natural growth habits. I've been
cleaning out the debris blown in by the wind for the umpteenth time. 'Til
the wind blows those oak leaves back in, I guess. It's been drizzling for
three days here and I've accumulated all of 1/4 inch of rain. Not enough,
but the leaf spot loves these conditions. Been spraying daconil over them,
but am not hopeful it will bring it under control. Back hurts and there are
still beds that are untouched, but all the big ones are done and waiting for
wind to undo the work.
