FASHIONABLY LATE has grown fairly well here, but not a reliable bloomer.

My current theory (based on nothing more than optimism) is that,  in
order to bloom well, in addition to no late freezes, Keppel irises need
better soil/more moisture than they get in the gravel where this one and
HAPPENSTANCE are planted

I put most of the new arrivals last year in the 'good' soil with the
rebloomers to see if they do a bit better there.  Gravel is great for
drainage & helps prevent hot wet weather rot, but not so great for hot
dry spring weather.
