Re: older pre-archive posts (was SPEC: species discussion forum)

I've been working sporadically on the accumulated 1000-plus posts from the
pre-archive SpaceAgeRobin grouping them into 130-message groups to post to the
archive. It's a lot of work because the Yahoo message format has so many
macros that are totally irrelevant to the archived messages. I remove them,
and that takes time. Removing redundancies (copied messages in replies) is
another bit of doing, but is a lot easier than the macros.

I keep getting distracted by real irises and their incredible rate of growth
right now. I have done very little garden cleanup, fall or spring, and I'm
going to pay a price if I don't do some outdoor work pronto. I'm just barely
starting.

The fellow that sprayed for me last spring said my own sprayer was plugged (?)
but I'm going to try to clean out the nozzle to see if that is what is awry.
I rinsed it really well when last used. I can't imagine it not clean. If
worse comes to worse I can pick up a cheap one at Wal-Mart for short-term use,
I suppose.

The winter weeds are going to be going to seed soon if I don't get them hoed
out pronto. The ground is soft, fluffy and easily worked, although the
moisture content is a bit high for walking on. It can pack into concrete very
easily.

In about a week I'm going to get another interruption with a cataract removal
and lens implant. I suppose they will give me a list of restrictions--don't
do this, that and the other. I hope it is a short list for a short time!
