Blooming now

In Albuquerque, NM this morning I noticed several blue Dutch Iris open.
Still haven't seen any other Iris except Reticulatas (which are long
finished now), but there are lots of buds. My Dutch Iris probably won't
flower this year, since the Cottontails continue to eat them as fast as
they grow. Yesterday in Las Cruces I saw one of those Historic purple
bitone TB noids that is probably a tetraploid, first flower open. It was
in a cemented walkway area between large buildings on the college campus
(probably a bit ahead of most plants in the area). I thought I'd see lots
of SDB and IB blooming down there, but apparently Las Cruces isn't big on
Iris, or else I was looking in the wrong place. There were a lot of
Crabapples in flower.
