I agree, one on one is valuable and can not be replaced. AIS and
Regions could also have training materials made up and available to
instructors for garden training, I think this would help. This would be
like having tutorial texbooks. It would be a way to assist some instructors
which don't have access to prior tests and could assist them with
preparation in order to do training, either one on one, or group.

We don't require attendance at regionals, but I think that is generally
how people become interested and sign up, and we usually always have JT
training at our regionals. Also, for about ten years, we've been doing a 5
hours, 2 session training seminar, which always brings in a good speaker,
but would you believe, our last JT seminar held in January, which had the
highest attendance in years, had only 4 students attend?

This is a good idea, I'll mention it to our current JT chair. For our
large region, there is so much follow-up work to ensure that all of our
judges are on track and current in their training, that anything that can
help with efficiency is great.
