Well, that certainly looks real familiar. But then, most of the Curtis plates 
do if only from watching folks snipe each other for them at Ebay. Of course 
that is nothing compared to the hilarious stuff happening lately with Iris 
catalogs up there ;>. 

In any case. maybe with this particular muddle we are back to the aphylla non 
Linn. thing?  

According to the BIS book the current Iris aphylla is Iris aphylla Linn. It 
does *not* have wholly scarious spathes. It does have as a synonym Iris biflora 
Sweet among many. 

Thank you for posting that image. If one goes to the USDA site one can also 
read the text that accompanies the image.
