Re: HIST:Swerti vs. Swertii, Or SWEERTII


I grew up in a home where Dutch was spoken a lot, especially when my
Grandmother lived with us, till I was 7, and I learned it myself later.   Most
of my relatives still live in the Netherlands, where I've visited them, too.
I can tell you that there aren't really English pronunciation equivalents for
some of the sounds, only approximations.  Similar to German is a lot of ways,
but not the same.  Frisian is also in the language family, though I'm sure
that isn't going to help many of you.  :-)
