One way that I solved this problem was to take some duct tape and a 2 liter (large size) plastic pop bottle. I cut the large end (bottom) of the pop bottle off. I take a length of the uct tape anr rip it lengthwize into a strip about 1"wide. I then wrap this around the end of the spray hose until it is thick enough to hold the bottle on securely. The small end of the bottle is slipped onto the sprayhose. You can now put the bottle over the weed you need to spray and spray it with no drift onto a plant even reaction of na inch away. When you don't need t ouse the bottle, just slip it off.
Works for me.
