HYB: help for newbie

Got this request offlist - I know there are some good websites for this,
but don't know which ones to recommend.

Plus, there is a huge amount of info in the archives, but digging out
just one or two posts for a beginner would be a lot of work.

Can someone help this person?

<I am going to try some Hybridizing this year.  Would make some comments
on what to do to hybridize by hand?  I have
   not tried this.>
