HYB:Short and Tall

This is purely antidotal, but Linda asked. <vbg>

Radiant Bliss=Earl of Essex X Hot Streak

Rebound=Highland Chief X Earl of Essex

Radiant Bliss and Rebound both grow taller than EoE. Is it possible that
using EoE as the pollen parent made a difference after all?

The tendencies of Innocent Star by Sutton to produce short seedlings has
been discussed on this list. This just adds to the information.

I bought IS the first year is was available. It produced pollen the first
spring and I used it on both Radiant Bliss and Rebound.

I don't recall seeing even one really tall seedling from the RB X IS cross.
Lots of pretty rebloomers but many fell into the border bearded class.

The seedlings from Rebound X Innocent Star were noticeably taller. All of
them.

The Radiant Bliss by Innocent Star cross gave the strongest rebloomer I've
grown, while the Rebound cross gave very good rebloom seedlings but not as
early.

There is another generation to bloom this spring.
