Peeked at 3 or 4 pots under the pine straw on our last warm day (about 4 days ago -- temperature in the teens last night). Nothing showing yet. Fine with me. I have plenty of work to do before I want to be transplanting. Meanwhile, the brave crocuses are lying frozen where they fell. --- Griff

No sprouts yet! Plastic chicken wire is holding up well. Makes it easy to peel back the straw to check on the seedling pots. Straw was accidentally 
moved from one pot and it was seriously dried  out.

Yesterday, was a beautiful day.  Glad to report the survival (so far)  of
some marginal plants from the 2004 planting beds.

Anyone making crosses yet?
