It really looks like an early season here. There are many stalks up on the bearded irises,
as well as LAs. The most disappointing thing is tgat three of them are going to bloom out.
Every plant has a bloom stalk on Against All Odds, '06, H. Nichols, Bell Bottom Blues, '04,
Lauer, and Artful, '00, ?. I really like all three and hate to loose them.

Suddenly spring here too. Almost all my seedlings already planted out. I am a

I lost a couple of the late sprouts I planted last September, but most
actually grew
through the winter. Amazing.
I haven't treated for leaf spot the last few years, but have decided there's
no point in
torturing the ones that have little or no resistance. Once they've shown no
resistance,
I am going to either spray them or get rid of them, but not watch them losing
leaves all
summer. Will keep records and make no crosses that don't have good resistance
on
at least one side, preferably pod side.
Decided to go to the Convention this year, since I wouldn't miss much the
first week of May.
If this weather keeps up, I'll miss a bunch! 3 weeks ahead of season so far
here. Sure
to get a nasty cold spell as soon as stalks are most vulnerable.
Who all is going?
