Re: CULT: Iris Borer Control

<<Is Merit bad for honey bees?>>

The following was found in the product label for Merit 75WP under Environmental Hazards:

Quote......
This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or residues on b looming crops or weeds. Do not apply this product or allow it to drift to blooming crops or weeds if bees are visiting the treatment area...........

Subject: [iris] CULT: Iris Borer Control

1. Is Merit bad for honey bees?
2. Can one get rid of iris borers with something other than harsh pesticides?
3. Does NEEM or Murphy's Oil Soap kill borers?
4. Can controlled burns be done in the spring, or only in the fall?

Thanks,
