Best guess right now, with plants that are not rebloomers, is facilitated rebloom. That is a mature plant with early bud set, and a long time at maturity. thislong time at mature wcould possibly repeat in a warmer climate, but in later years doesn't have the long time at maturity with bud set initiated. So could be a California rebloomer, if grown there. I have found that some of these late season maiden bloomers die out over winter if bloom is late in season. Others report same thing.
