Rosemary.... I'm involved in all three robins (right... I DO need a life -
and I'll get one when spring comes!)
Daylily: A very popular and very intense e-mail robin. We currently have
OVER 130 members... we're served by a listserver (free, from a university).
Comprised of hybridizers, gardeners, scientists, commercial nurseries, and
flower folk! We have two out of country members.... Belgium and Italy (I
don't count Canada since Buffalo practically IS Canada, only dirtier).
Prerequisite is that you MUST be a member of the American Hemerocallis
Society because they have sanctioned it. Contact Tim Fehr at fehrtj@uwec.edu
... he is the robin leader
Hosta list.... newest group and still getting cranked up. The guy who
started it is Kevin Walek, screen name "Giboshiman@aol.com". He's tied up
with American Hosta Society membership renewals right now, so if you're
interested, check in with Gisela Meckstroth who is keeping the screen
names..... you can get her at
giseam@freenet.columbus.oh.us
A word of caution... if you DO join the daylily e-mail robin (yes... that IS
the correct term for our group for all you A-type personality folk), be
prepared to get LOTS of mail! The listserver has a 50 message limit per day
- we quite often go over the limit. Some people keep the e-mail addresses
and don't use the list... so you can get MORE than 50 messages/day! I love
it... but not everyone does.
Kathy Guest.... who is afraid to get e-mail capabilities at work because she
KNOWS how she would spend her day!
