Steve Brown - by golly, scorch sure does read like my version of wasting
disease (according to the 1978 world of iris anyway). Then, they thought it
was probably pseudomonas bacteria.  have they figured it out for sure?  FALL
FIESTA is shrunk to one tiny little rhizome less than 1/2 inch across after 2
yrs, but world of iris says recovery is possible??

as for it being always fatal, some (HELEN BOEHM for instance) have lingered
for more than 5 yrs and a few only get it in certain parts of the garden
(differences in clay, organic matter, and gravel content plus probably other
mysterious things as clarence mentioned for pacificas)

if anybody knows more recent info about scorch than is in the world of iris,
i would like to hear more.
