Greetings all,
As you can guess by the subject Star Trek and irises are my two
hobbies. I live in San Diego (zone 9.5). I recently joined our local
branch of the AIS and found that I was the only person who persued
irises on the Net. I will have to get the rest of the group online to
learn and share thier knowledge.
My iris collection is kind of small, about 30 varieties of beardeds, 5
dutch, 4 LAs. This year I added some sibs, oncos and japs and they are
giving me problems. I have them all in rich soil with lots of organic
matter. The oncos I water sparingly and the japs and sibs live in pots
in a shallow bin with 1" of water. The oncos are outside, the sibs and
japs inside under grow lites. The indoor plants have grown about 1'
with thin leaves and they have started to die. Suggestions?
Another question: I recently got some hybrid spuria seeds and am
wondering the best meduim to plant them and indoors/outdoors and
special requirements.
Thanks
Paul
